Malware find a New Home in Friendster Profiles

The Internet is full of sites hosting malware trying to infect gullible users. The most recent addition to this list are legitimate sites such as Facebook and Friendster. Malware authors create profiles or leave behind links which point to malware. When a gullible user clicks on it, they are instructed to download a "codec" or some other file which is essential to view the video or see the profile. Once the user downloads and runs the malware, his machine gets infected and will probably become part of a botnet.

In this video, virus experts show a demo of a malware which seems to be spreading using Friendster profiles.
